DESCRIPTION

MATTRESS CONTAINING MINERAL FABRIC AND A POCKET SPRING

SYSTEM HAVING FIVE ZONES

Field of the Invention

The invention is about a mattress containing mineral fabric and a pocket spring system having five zones that provides support in accordance with human anatomy with springs having different amounts of stiffness, a special sponge having five zones that provides support to the body at all points, and that contains special woven soft mineral fabric on the outside .

State of the Art

New mattress systems having different structures and contents are developed to increase sleep quality today. Efforts are exerted toward eliminating fatigue caused by the daily pace of life and the working conditions, and alleviating particularly back and neck pain due to low sleep quality. These efforts are aimed at finding the materials and the technique that are most in line with the human body structure and posture by changing the interior and exterior components present in mattress structures.

The mattresses developed to find the ones that are most in line with the ideal human body orthopedics include different kinds of spring sets such as the one line bonnell springs and pocket springs. In addition to these spring systems, sponge mattresses are also used. However, the sponge mattresses that are preferred due to the risk of deterioration in spring systems are prone to have depressions in the sponge body because of an unequal distribution of the user weight in prolonged use. Since there is a mechanical connection between the helical springs in mattresses having Bonnell springs or similar pocket springs, the pressure created by the person lying on the bed leads to the spring wrappings to move together. In addition, metal springs in spring mattresses undergo deformation because they are made of metallic material. The deformed spring structures puts strain on the user' s spine throughout the night and causes excessive pressure on some of the spinal discs. This situation leads to a deformation of the natural curvatures in the human spine over time. Accordingly, it leads to a decrease in the sleep quality, causes excessive fatigue and pain. The deformed spring structure also makes sounds causing further disturbance in the user.

The utility model with the application no. 2005/03040 can be given as an example for the state of the art. This utility model is about an ergonomic mattress that has a relaxing effect on the muscle structure of the user relying on the idea of obtaining a reaction at seven different areas of action. This mattress that has seven different areas of springs is made of visco sponge material. Mattresses made of this material can have depressions due to prolonged use.

In mattresses that have pocket spring systems, each pocket spring moves independent of the rest of the springs. This punctual flexibility of the mattress, allows the pressure that the mattress exerts on the human body to be spread over the entire body instead of focusing on certain parts of the body. The spring systems that the aforementioned mattresses contain need to be improved.

Another example for the state of the art can be the patent with application no 2014/01793, that is about a mattress containing mineral fabric and bag pocket spring system. This invention is about a mattress that contains a pocket spring system having an hourglass form and wrapped within baline to prevent friction and abrasion, pooling sponges that are wrapped around these spring pockets to prevent them from sagging and deterioration, visco sponge that takes the shape of the user' s body thereby spreading the weight evenly, and mattress fabric cover that helps with cell renewal through its surface. However, the pocket spring system of this mattress is comprised of spring pockets with only one level of stiffness.

The invention that is the subject matter of this application aims to achieve a mattress that supports both the skeletal system and the muscular system of the human body in accordance with ideal human orthopedics.

Detailed Description of the Invention

The invention is about a mattress that containing a pocket spring system having five zones that provides support in accordance with human anatomy with springs having different amounts of stiffness, a special sponge having five zones that provides support to the body at all points, intermediary filling materials that enhance comfort and durability, high-density side support sponges (11), and soft mineral fabric on the outside. The new mattress provides support for back and shoulders, hip, knees, feet and ankles.

The mattress that is the subject matter of the application is composed of five main sections. These are upper mattress layers that are attached to the bed with zippers, upper quilted layers, middle layers, lower quilted layers, and side layers. The upper mattress layers that are attached to the bed with zippers are, functional woven fabric (1), polyester fiber (2), soft sponge (3), baline (4), and woven microfiber fabric (5), respectively. The quilted part of the mattress that is at the top most part of it has zippers on more than one side that allows it to be attached to the bed. The zipper makes it easier for the quilted mattress cover to be removed and cleaned easily. In a preferred embodiment of the mattress, polyester fiber (2) with a density of 400 gr/m 2 , and soft sponge (3) with a density of 18 and a thickness of

1.5 cm are used. In addition, the weight of the functional woven fabric (1) is 400 gr/m 2 .

Said mattress quilt is made of the functional woven fabric (1), characterized in that it has a mineral technology. This fabric supports the organs of the body that are responsible for self-healing and renewal, contributes to cell renewal, and provides the user with marked vitality. The functional woven fabric (1) that covers the upper surface of the mattress that is the subject matter of this application contains minerals that support the self-healing of the body and cell renewal. A text was conducted on 25 individuals between the ages of

20 and 60 to test the effects of the functional woven fabric (1) that covers the top surface of the mattress that is the subject matter of the invention. The subjects were chosen from among a group of people having musco-skeletal system problems, senior individuals with slowed down body functions, individuals under psychological pressures, and young women experiencing hormonal problems. The tests confirmed that the functional woven fabric (1) improves sleep quality and decreases the stress levels of the users. The middle layers of the mattress that is the subject matter of the application are, upper sponge (7.1) with five sections that is the layers of special sponge, lower sponge with five sections (7.2), thermofelt (8) as intermediary filling material, pocket spring framework with five section (9), and hard sponge (10), respectively.

The upper most part of the middle section of the mattress is the sponge system with five sections (7) . In a preferred embodiment of the mattress, the total thickness of the sponge system is 6 cm. The sponge system with five sections

(7) contains, an upper sponge (7.1) preferably with a density of 22 as having a single density and with a thickness of 2 cm, and a lower sponge with five sections

(7.2) having multiple densities with a total thickness of 4 cm. These two different sponge densities are 28 and 35. The sponge having a density of 35 is placed in the head, waist- hip, and foot-ankle regions, whereas the sponge having a density of 28 is placed in the back and leg regions. These sponges are lined up proportionally in accordance with the springs with different stiffness on the pocket spring frameworks with five sections (9) of the mattress that is the subject matter of this application. In a preferred embodiment of the mattress, the length of the sponge corresponding to the waist-hip region is about 35% of the length of the mattress. The other four spring regions preferably have the same length as each other.

The special sponge with five sections supports the body at all points, thereby decreasing pressure and stress. This decreases the need to turn around during sleep and relieves the muscles in pain. Placed between the sponge system with five sections (7) and the pocket spring framework with five sections (9) is intermediary surface filling material to increase comfort and durability. Thermofelt (8) with a preferable weight of 900 gr/m 2 is used right above the pocket springs. In addition, thermofelt (8) and hard sponge (10) are -s- used between the pocket spring framework with five sections (9) and the lower quilted layers too . The hard sponge (10) preferably has a density of 22.

The mattress that contains the pocket spring framework with five sections (9) that is the subject matter of this application is developed to support different parts of the human body at different levels. The pocket springs with five sections used in the mattress are formed by placing springs that are manufactures separately into fabric pockets that are connected to each other. Springs with different stiffness are lines up in five regions in accordance with the human anatomy, and thus an orthopedic mattress structure that supports shoulder, waist vertebrae, and hip region separately, is achieved. The springs move independent of each other and respond to pressure applied to each of them individually. Thus, sufficient force is applied to all regions of the body.

The pocket spring framework with five sections (9) in the structure of the new mattress contains two pocket spring systems having different densities. In accordance with the needs of the human body, harder spring pockets are used at the head, waist-hip and feet regions, and softer spring pockets are used at the back and legs. In other words, the spring pockets are lined up along the mattress as hard-soft- hard-soft-hard. The pocket spring rows that correspond to the waist-hip region are longer than others and constitute about 35% of the length of the mattress. The remaining four regions are about the same length of each other. In addition, the springs in the pocket spring framework with five sections (9) move independent of each other and respond to the pressure exerted on them independently.

In the preferred embodiment of the mattress that is the subject matter of this application, there are 250 springs per square meter of the spring system.

The lower quilted layer and the upper inside quilted layer, which are among the layers that the mattress contains, are made of, woven fabric (6), polyester fiber (2), soft sponge (3), and baline (4), in order from the outer side towards the inner side. In the preferred embodiment of the mattress, the polyester fiber (2) with a density of 150 gr/m 2 and soft sponge (3) with a density of 18, a thickness of 1 cm are used. In a preferred embodiment, the lower and upper quilted woven fabric (6) contains 58.7% polyester and 41.3% polypropylene, with a weight of 130 gr/m 2 .

In addition, the side layers of the mattress that is the subject matter of the invention contain side support sponges (11) that allow the mattress to retain its shape for a long time. The mattress side layers that are on the outside of the side support sponges (11) are, in order from outside toward the inside, straight warp knitted fabric (12), 250 gr/m 2 polyester fiber (2), soft sponge (3) with 18 density and 1 cm thickness, and polypropylene baline (4) .

In some embodiments, foal hair fabric can be used on the sides of the mattress in order to obtain a soft touch and a pleasant view. In some embodiments, embossed patterns can be added on the sides of the mattress in order to increase visual appeal.

In the mattress with five sections that is the subject matter of the invention, hot melt glue that contains polymer and resin and that is molten with heat is used as an adhesive in between the layers.
