Abstract:
A mattress, comprising a cover (2), at least one first layer (3) of padding, at least one second layer (4a) of non- woven fabric, at least one pair of superimposed slabs (5a, 5b) of polyurethane and/or a sprung cushioning structure, between the cover (2) and at least one first layer (3) of padding a fifth layer (8) being interposed which is made of a material that comprises a conductive liquid or gel which contains powders of at least one conducting precious metal and/or at least one trace element, in an amount comprised between 0.3 and 30% by weight, the liquid or gel being irradiated with at least one therapeutic frequency and with at least one shape wave, the precious metal being chosen from among the group containing gold, silver, platinum, rhodium, ruthenium and copper.

Claims:
CLAIMS

1. A mattress (1), comprising a cover (2), at least one first layer (3) of padding, at least one second layer (4a) of non- woven fabric, at least one pair of superimposed slabs (5a, 5b) of polyurethane and/or a sprung cushioning structure, characterized in that between said cover (2) and at least one first layer (3) of padding a fifth layer (8) is interposed made of a material that comprises a conductive liquid or gel which contains powders of at least one conducting precious metal and/or at least one trace element, in an amount comprised between 0.3 and 30% by weight, said liquid or gel being irradiated with at least one therapeutic frequency and with at least one shape wave, said precious metal being chosen from among the group containing gold, silver, platinum, rhodium, ruthenium and copper.

2. The mattress according to claim 1, characterized in that said fifth layer (8) is provided in the form of an elastically deformable sheet or lamina.

3. The mattress according to claim 1, characterized in that said fifth layer (8) has a base made of silicone, conveniently loaded, with dimensions less than or equal to those of said cover (2) and of said at least one first layer (3) of padding.

4. The mattress according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said fifth layer (8) has a thickness smaller than that of said at least one first layer (3) of padding.

5. The mattress according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said fifth layer (8) has dimensions, in width and/or in length, smaller than those of said cover (2) and of said at least one first layer (3) of padding.

6. The mattress according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said fifth layer (8) is provided in the form of a strip or band of desired dimensions which is oriented according to a desired axis with respect to the axis of said mattress (1).

7. The mattress according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said strip or band is arranged according to an axis that is parallel to the longitudinal axis of said mattress (1).

8. The mattress according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said strip or band is oriented according to an axis that is inclined, by a desired angle, with respect to the longitudinal axis of said mattress (1).

9. The mattress according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that the arrangement of said strip or band is such as to arrange it either at the longitudinal central axis of said mattress (1) or according to an axis parallel to the longitudinal central axis of said mattress (1).

10. The mattress according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said strip or band is arranged along the axis of the spinal column of the user.

Description:
MATTRESS

The present invention relates to a mattress.

Nowadays conventional mattresses have many and varied types of structures; for example, one of the many is to make "ergonomic" mattresses which mold themselves to adapt to the physiological curves of the body of a user, for example by using structures that entail, usually inside a cover or covering, a single parallelepiped block of expanded polyurethane, or latex, or other, similar materials.

It is also known to provide mattresses that have zones with differentiated load capacity, for example for the shoulders, the pelvis and the legs.

Mattresses are also known which have a stratigraphic structure of various layers that have, for example, superimposed layers, each one having a different rigidity so as to seek to improve the comfort for the user.

All such solutions have drawbacks, insofar as a general improvement of the postural comfort of the body does not correspond to any functional benefit to the body, and does not improve conditions such as quality of sleep, total sleep time, number of nighttime awakenings, time to fall asleep, or movement of the limbs during sleep.

The aim of the present invention is therefore to solve the above mentioned technical problems, eliminating the drawbacks in the cited known art and hence providing a mattress that makes it possible to improve the quality of rest by increasing the physical functions of the body of the user during that rest.

Within this aim, an object of the invention is to provide a mattress that makes it possible to achieve the foregoing characteristics even in the event of nighttime micro-movements and micro- settling of the user.

Another object is to provide a mattress that makes it possible to act constantly and continually on the musculature of the body of the user.

Another object is to provide a mattress that also favors the muscular activation of the user during rest.

Another object is to provide a mattress that makes it possible to achieve measurable benefits for the user in the times required to fall asleep, to reach the phases of sleep, and optimizing the sleep/wake ratio.

Another object is to provide a mattress that is structurally simple and that has a low cost and which can be made with the usual conventional plants.

This aim and these and other objects which will become better apparent hereinafter are achieved by a mattress, comprising a cover, at least one first layer of padding, at least one second layer of non- woven fabric, at least one pair of superimposed slabs of polyurethane and/or a sprung cushioning structure, characterized in that between said cover and at least one first layer of padding a fifth layer is interposed made of a material that comprises a conductive liquid or gel which contains powders of at least one conducting precious metal and/or at least one trace element, in an amount comprised between 0.3 and 30% by weight, said liquid or gel being irradiated with at least one therapeutic frequency and with at least one shape wave, said precious metal being chosen from among the group containing gold, silver, platinum, rhodium, ruthenium and copper.

Further characteristics and advantages of the invention will become better apparent from the detailed description of a particular, but not exclusive, embodiment thereof, which is illustrated by way of non-limiting example in the accompanying drawings wherein:

Figure 1 is a partially cross-sectional side view of the mattress according to the present invention;

Figure 2 is a partially cross-sectional perspective view of the mattress;

Figure 3 is a cross-sectional view of the mattress taken along a transverse cross-sectional plane.

In the exemplary embodiments that follow, individual characteristics, given in relation to specific examples, may actually be interchanged with other different characteristics that exist in other exemplary embodiments.

With reference to the figures, the reference numeral 1 generally designates a mattress, which comprises a cover 2, which is constituted by the fabric supplied for example by the Wondertex company called “Tamara”, at least one first layer 3 which is constituted by layered padding for example of the type supplied by the Maiano company under the name “TFR 300g”, at least one second layer 4a of non- woven fabric, constituted by a non-woven fabric supplied by the Elan company and called “TNT/Spunbonded”, at least one pair of superimposed slabs of polyurethane 5a, 5b which are constituted respectively by 100% flexible expanded polyester polyurethane supplied by the Loima company and called“Lastra Bugnata D/240” with a density of 40 kg/m 3 and by 100% flexible expanded polyester polyurethane supplied by the Loima company and called “LS25NZ” with a density of 25 kg/m 3 , such pair of superimposed slabs being substitutable by a sprung cushioning structure.

In the specific embodiment shown, a third layer 6 is also used, which is constituted by a compact padding felt arranged so as to envelop the sides of the mattress 1.

A fourth layer 4b of non-woven fabric is arranged adjacent to the third layer 6.

A fifth layer 8, made of material according to what is shown in Italian patent no. 1424839 filed on July 7, 2014, is interposed between the cover 2 and the at least one first layer of padding 3.

Such fifth layer 8 is made of a material that comprises a conductive liquid or gel which contains powders of at least one conducting precious metal and/or at least one trace element, in an amount comprised between 0.3 and 30% by weight, such liquid or gel being irradiated with at least one therapeutic frequency and with at least one shape wave, such precious metal being chosen from among the group containing gold, silver, platinum, rhodium, ruthenium and copper. Such fifth layer 8 is provided in the form of an elastically deformable sheet or lamina, for example with a base made of silicone, conveniently loaded, with dimensions less than or equal to those of the cover 2 and of the at least one first layer 3 of padding and has a thickness that is preferably smaller than that of the at least one first layer 3 of padding.

If the fifth layer 8 has dimensions, in width and/or in length, smaller than those of the cover 2 and of the at least one first layer 3 of padding, then it can be provided in the form of a strip or band of desired dimensions and be oriented according to a desired axis with respect to the axis of the mattress.

For example such strip can be arranged according to an axis that is parallel to the axis longitudinal to the mattress or according to an axis that is inclined, by the desired angle, with respect to the longitudinal axis of the mattress.

Thus, the arrangement of the strip or band can also be such as to arrange it either at the longitudinal central axis of the mattress or according to an axis parallel to the longitudinal central axis of the mattress.

Given the characteristics of the material provided according to what is shown in Italian patent no. 1424839 and of its particular arrangement in the mattress, together with the arrangement of the body of a user, it has been found that the mattress interacts actively with the musculature of the body, favoring the activation of the musculature through the emissivity of the material.

A preferred shape structure and arrangement of the fifth layer 8 is in the form of a strip or band arranged along the axis of the spinal column of the user: in this manner the material provided according to what is shown in Italian patent no. 1424839 favors the muscular activation of the user, optimizing the functions of rest and bringing measurable benefits in the nighttime micro-movements and micro- settling of the user.

The fifth layer 8 acts constantly and continually with the musculature of the body for an estimated time of at least five years from the activation on the user.

Furthermore it has been found that the fifth layer 8 acts, through the properties of the material provided according to what is shown in Italian patent no. 1424839, actively with the cells of the body, favoring cell health through the spectral radiance that the material emanates.

The fifth layer 8 embedded in the mattress makes it possible, if it is positioned for example in its silicone form to bridge the distance between the right shoulder and the level of the left pelvis of the user, to immediately favor the cellular activation of the user, optimizing the functions of rest while bringing measurable benefits in the times required to fall asleep, to reach the phases of sleep, and optimizing the sleep/wake ratio.

The present solution therefore makes it possible to obtain a mattress that increases the quality of sleep, increases the total sleep time, reduces nighttime awakenings, reduces the time to fall asleep, reduces the movements of limbs during sleep, and enables a physical improvement of the user.

Naturally the dimensions and the shapes of the individual components of the invention may be more relevant according to specific requirements.

The characteristics indicated above as advantageous, convenient or the like, may also be missing or be substituted by equivalent characteristics.
