Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a measurement device that can quickly measure the concentrations of compounds in a reaction liquid for the purpose of easily producing a cyanohydrin-containing liquid that contains few reaction raw materials or other impurities. This measurement device is used when a specific raw material carbonyl compound and a specific raw material cyanating agent are reacted to continuously produce a cyanohydrin-containing liquid. The device has an ultraviolet absorptiometer for measuring the concentration of carbonyl compounds in a reaction liquid and/or a cyanometer for measuring the concentration of cyanating agents in the reaction liquid. The device also has a refractometer for measuring the total concentration of: carbonyl compounds in the reaction liquid and/or cyanating agents in the reaction liquid; and cyanohydrins in the reaction liquid. The device also has a program that calculates cyanohydrin concentration from the abovementioned concentrations.
