Abstract:
Provided are a measurement while drilling device and method for determining lithological characteristics of a tunnel roof. The measurement while drilling device comprises a rock debris collection device (1), an individual roof bolter (2) and an enhanced handheld ore analyzer. The individual roof bolter (2) is arranged vertically and used to drill a hole in a roof (10). The rock debris collection device (1) comprises a housing, a funnel (3), a pipe (5), drying devices (6), a filter pipe (7), an air vent (8), and a drainage pipe (9). The drying devices (6) and the filter pipe (7) are vertically provided inside the housing, respectively. The drying devices (6) are arranged around the filter pipe (7). An opening in communication with the filter pipe (7) is arranged at a top portion of the housing. A plurality of air vents (8) are arranged at one side surface of the housing. The drainage pipe (9) is provided at a bottom portion of the housing. A hole (4) is arranged at a lower central portion of the funnel (3). The pipe (5) is provided at one side of the funnel (3). An upper opening of the funnel (3) is positioned under a hole drilled by the individual roof bolter (2). The funnel (3) is connected to the filter pipe (7) by means of the pipe (5). The present invention uses a rock debris collection device to collect rock debris produced while a roof bolter drills a hole in a roof, thereby performing a debris guiding process, a filtering process, a deposition process and a drying process at a tunnel excavation working face. The present invention combines an enhanced handheld ore analyzer to determine, in real time, lithological characteristics within a certain range of a tunnel roof, thereby performing perforation in a bolting process while detecting and analyzing lithological characteristics of a tunnel roof. The present invention is applicable to the technical field of mining tunnel bolting.
