Abstract:
The invention relates to a measuring device housing (1) having a viewing opening (3), a viewing pane holder (4) provided around the viewing opening (3), a viewing pane (5) which can be inserted into the viewing pane holder (4), a gasket (6) for sealing by means of sealing compound between the viewing pane (5) inserted in the viewing pane holder (4) and the viewing pane holder (4) itself, a gasket holder (7) provided around the viewing opening (3) in the viewing pane holder (4) to hold the gasket (6) and a circumferential sealing gap (8) provided between the viewing pane (5) and the viewing pane holder (4). A measuring device housing (1) with improved sealing of the sealing gap (8) is produced in that the gasket (6) and the viewing pane holder (4) form a sealing compound container (9) extending around the viewing opening (3) to hold liquid sealing compound (10) when the measuring device housing (1) is oriented properly, in that the sealing compound container (9) without the inserted viewing pane (5) has a first container volume, that the sealing compound (9) with the inserted viewing pane (5) has a second container volume, in that the first container volume is greater by a differential volume than the second container volume, and in that when the viewing pane (5) is inserted, the differential volume flows over into the sealing gap (8).
