Abstract:
A measuring device for pedaling motion, comprising: a measurement body unit (2) provided with first sensor units (21, 22) for detecting the motion of a wheel (104) of a bicycle to detect the number of rotation of the wheel, and also with second sensor units (4, 5) disposed on the left and right crank arms (107) and detecting the magnitudes and directions of forces applied to the left and right crank arms; a first work calculation unit (8b) for calculating the work performed by the bicycle in a predetermined time period, the calculation being performed on the basis of the number of rotation of the wheel detected by the first sensor units (21, 22); a second work calculation unit (8c) for calculating the work performed by the user on crank members in the predetermined time period, the calculation being performed on the basis of the magnitudes and directions of the forces respectively applied to the left and right crank arms (107) and detected by the second sensor units (4, 5); and an efficiency calculation unit (8d) for calculating the efficiency of the bicycle on the basis of the work performed by the bicycle and the user.
