Title:
MECHANICAL FUSE INSTALLATION SYSTEM AND MECHANICAL FUSE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/093484
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
In an electric automobile (1), a battery unit (2) is reliably protected from large deformation during a collision. When a frame (15) plastically deforms by a large amount, a large shearing force acts on a mechanical fuse (8) and a shear fracture occurs in a layered surface (23) (a rupture direction control function (23)). In a front-side mechanical fuse (8f), a rupture direction control function (23f) works so as to push the battery unit (2) forward and downward. In a rear-side mechanical fuse (8r), a rupture direction control function (23r) works so as to push the battery unit (2) rearward and downward. As a result, a force acts so as to push the battery unit (2) downward. The battery unit (2) thereby reliably detaches from a vehicle body (1). During normal travel, the mechanical fuse (8) maintains a stable connected state.
