Abstract:
Shortening occurrence rate in the general public is 10%, up to 1 -1.5 cm shortening occurs - Shortening causes: limping.Scolisis. Osteoaritic changes in the hip joint and knee - So bone lengthening for thease cases should be done. To lengthen bones osteotomy is done followed by distraction by an external fixator (Ilizarov) or internal fixation either dy dynamic intramedullary Nail (spin method) or magnetic nail ( by remote control). My innovation is an intramedullary Nail by dynamic tensile pulling (which is the first of its kind Nail allover the world ), which is characterized by several features: 1 -A minimum soft tissue injury, 2-longitudinal traction without roration as found in other nails ( so minimal soft tissue and vascular insult ), 4-Tractuon is done a spacial tractipn device evaluated from Thoma splint. 4-and the financial cost of greatly reduced due to mechanical priperties without the sofistication of a motor and/or a magnet ic field.

Mechanical Intramedullary Lengthening Distractor Nail

1- is a lengthening nail consists of : Outer Cylinder 10 mm in diameter which contains inner cylinder 6 mm in diameter with saw teeth cuts in dimeter and a locking mechanism for the saw teeth, both cylinders contains locking screws oriffeces .( Fig.6 )

2- The outer cylinder contains a locking mechanisn for tho SAW TEETH which acts to stop lengthening every 1 mm lengthening and maintain it .

3- Also both cylinders have goles for locking screws .
