Abstract:
Provided is a mechanical pencil unit wherein the outer diameter of the mechanical pencil unit is reduced so as to facilitate the application of the mechanical pencil unit as a refill for mechanical pencils. A mechanical pencil unit is provided with: a holding cylinder 10; a holder 20 which is inserted through the front opening 11a of the holding cylinder 10, protrudes forward from the front end of the holding cylinder 10, and is supported so as to be capable of moving forward and backward relative to the holding cylinder 10; a lead advancing mechanism M2 for advancing forward a lead x inserted through the holder 20; and a movement direction changing mechanism M1 for advancing the holder 20 relative to the holding cylinder 10 and the lead x by means of radial force applied from the lead x to the holder 20. The lead advancing mechanism M2 is provided behind the holder 20 and the movement direction changing mechanism M1.
