Abstract:
A first mechanical pencil 1 is configured to deliver a writing lead forward by releasing and holding the writing lead through back-and-forth movement of a chuck unit 20 arranged in a shaft cylinder 11, the chuck unit 20 being retained in the shaft cylinder 11 so as to be rotatable around a central axis line while holding the writing lead. The first mechanical pencil 1 is provided with a rotational driving mechanism 22 with a rotor 30, the rotor 30 retreating in accordance with a retreating action of the chuck unit 20 due to a writing pressure applied to the writing lead, whereby the rotor 30 is rotationally moved, and is further provided with a rotation locking mechanism configured such that the rotational movement of the rotor 30 is transmitted to the writing lead via the chuck unit 20 to thereby lock the rotation of the rotor 30.
