A mechanical protective ring (7) made of a dielectric material, with an external diameter intended to cooperate with the inner diameter of a ground contact (31) of a 4.3-10 female connector (3), and with an inner diameter adapted such that in case of a mismating of a ground contact (61) of a 4.1-9.5 plug connector (6) into said ring (7), the front face of the ring (7) comes into abutment with said ground contact (61) of the 4.1-9.5 plug connector (6).
