Title:
MECHANICAL SCRUBBER FOR HOUSE HOLD UTENSILS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/149000
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
One of the major tasks in a household utensil cleaning is scrubbing the utensils manually to remove soiling before it is washed either manually or using mechanical dishwashers. This manual scrubbing consumes lot of time and energy of a domestic user. The proposed mechanical/automatic scrubber eliminates the manual scrubbing and saves time and energy of a domestic user. Two set of scrubbers, one set for the outer surface and another set for the inner surface of the utensil, are used to scrub the outer and inner surfaces of utensils actuated by one or more electric motors so as to scrubs whole utensils efficiently. The proposed mechanical scrubber will be built to scrub almost all utensils of different sizes and shapes. A combination of flexible materials like rubber and air balloon are used to reach one and all surfaces both inside and outside surfaces of the utensils with scrubbers to remove soils.

Description:
Mechanical Scrubber for household utensils

FIELD OF INVENTION

The present invention relates to scrubbing and cleaning of dishes, eating-utensils and cooking-utensils of a household.

BACKGROUND TO THE INVENTION

In accordance with the present embodiment, a mechanical dishwasher cleans dishes and eating-utensils by spraying hot water at the dishes. A mix of water and detergent is circulated by a pump. Water is pumped to one or more rotating spray arms which blast the dishes with the cleaning mixture. Once the wash is finished, the water is drained, more hot water is pumped in and a rinse cycle begins. After the rinse cycle finishes and the water is drained, a heating

element in the bottom of the tub heats the air to dry the dishes. This kind of mechanical dishwashing is suitable for western households. But most of the Asian household utensils need mandatory scrubbing to get its cleaned. This invention is to propose a mechanical scrubbing of all house hold utensils to remove soiling so as to get the utensils cleaned as done in the manual scrubbing and cleaning.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Consider a household of different utensils made of sole or combination of different materials such as stainless steel, copper, aluminum, iron, glass etc. In a typical Asian kitchen all these materials gets soiled with different degree after the cooking. This leads to a mandatory scrubbing of the utensils before it would be washed either manually or using a mechanical dishwasher. This scrubbing consumes lot of energy and time of a user. The proposed mechanical scrubber will help a domestic user to scrub all his/her utensils of different size of different materials with different level of soiling. Like in any manual scrubbing this mechanical scrubber will reach all parts of the utensil and scrub it effectively. In order to cover all surfaces both inside and outside the utensil two air balloons with scrubbers on the surface of the balloons, one for inner surface and another for outer surface, are used as shown in elevation view as in Fig. 1. At first the inflated balloon will kept inside the utensil. The following sequence of operation is performed: i) Water and cleaning agent are sprayed over the utensil both on the inner surface and outer surfaces of the utensil ii) The outer and inner balloons are supplied with air and made to cover all the surfaces of the utensil, iii) The pressure in outer balloon is kept slightly higher than the inner balloon so as to tightly hold the utensil from its outer surface, iv) Inner balloon which has scrubbers on its surface is rotated using the electric motor for few seconds in the clockwise direction and then in the anticlockwise direction for few seconds specified by the one of the five selected program control, v) The pressure in the inner balloon is now made slightly higher than the pressure in the outer balloon so that the utensil is held tightly from the inner surface, vi) The outer balloon which has scrubbers on its inner surface is rotated in clockwise for few seconds and then in the anticlockwise directions for few seconds determined by the one of the five selected program control.

The five scrubbing program controls are stored and issued by a microprocessor along with appropriate memory units. The motor driving circuits, which are not shown in this write up, gets the programmed instructions and rotates the balloon scrubbers in clock wise and anti-clockwise directions for a specified time. Once the selected program cycle finishes the user gets the scrubbed utensil and he may either wash manually or using a mechanical dish washer.
