Abstract:

This sintered gear, which is a mechanical structural component, is a mechanical structural component made of a metal sintered body and comprises: a base region (13); and a high-density region (14) that has a smaller porosity than the base region (13) and that is formed so as to include the surface (15) and a maximum stress position (17) which is the position where maximum tensile stress or maximum shear stress is applied. A region including the surface (15) has a surface-hardened layer (16) formed by being subjected to a hardening treatment.
