Abstract:
Disclosed are a mechanical thumb and a mechanical arm. The mechanical thumb comprises: a fixed base; a pivoting base hinge-connected to the fixed base; a proximal thumb knuckle hinge-connected to the pivoting base; a distal thumb knuckle hinge-connected to the proximal thumb knuckle; a first driving device, hinge-connected to the pivoting base, and driving the proximal thumb knuckle and the distal thumb knuckle to stretch and to bend; and a second driving device provided on the fixed base and capable of driving the pivoting base to pivot. An angle is formed between a pivoting axis of the pivoting base and a hinge-connection axis of the first driving device. The mechanical thumb disclosed in the present invention achieves stretching, bending, and pivoting of an entire thumb, thereby improving verisimilitude of a humanoid hand and thus improving flexibility. The invention also has a simple structure and is light weight.
