Title:
MECHANICAL TILLING DEVICE FOR SAVING ENERGY, HIGH PULVERIZATION AND ANTI ACCUMULATION OF PROCESSING RESIDUES
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/073013
Kind Code:
A2
Abstract:
Energy saving mechanical device for tillage, anti piling, high soil pulverization and shredding tilling residues. Consisting of mechanical parts mounted on tillers, rear tine tillers, rotary tillers, rotary cultivators, milling machines and all agricultural machinery working the soil using tools assembled on a rotating shaft. The device consists of one or more mechanical parts that mounted on the milling group, are going to close the space between one blade and the other. Those parts will work the soil as well as the blades, increasing earth pulverization considerably and preventing any kind of clogging of the milling group. Consequently saving time and fuel consumption resulting in a much lower environmental impact. With the adding of this device only one single pass is necessary, instead of three, for perfect soil preparation.

Description:
Mechanical tilling device for saving energy, high pulverization and anti accumulation of residues

The present invention relates to a device applicable to agricultural machinery used for tillage which allows high energy savings, high pulverization of the soil and avoids the accumulation of processing residues between the rotary parts of the cutter group. Background of the invention

This device was born from the need to work the land with hoe type machines suck as rotary tillers, rotary cultivators, milling machines etc. without having to pre-work the soil with other types of machinery. Those same machines also have the problem of high fuel consumption and low soil pulverization especially with only one transmission. On the other hand, the direct use of tillers, rear tine tillers, cultivators, milling machines, etc. on terrain where the growth of any kind of weed, grass or small twigs are present makes it nearly impossible due to the entangling of the just mentioned organic materials into the rotating parts. This problem arises after very little progression of work and you would usually need to pass another machine prior to tilling. For this reason the direct use of milling machinery is almost impossible. It also would require continuous and long stops for cleaning the cutter group and in addition it would have a problem with low soil pulverization. This would mean that the operator in order to obtain a suitable soil for his work should be making multiple passes.

An example is the spring season when manuring lands with orchard and vineyard pruning operations, creates a huge deposit of organic waste on the ground. In these cases direct use of the device on milling machines, motor hoes, cultivators, rotary tillers etc., would be advantageous for both saving time and fuel consumption (resulting in a lower environmental impact) and also increasing soil pulverization. In this case just one passage instead of the normal three would be enough to prepare the soil. It must be said that in the past, I had already patented an anti accumulation device to keep the rotating parts clean, but it had a defect: not all of the internal space between a row of blades and the other was closed. There for it did not work on machines with low speed engines and it did not make it applicable to all types of machinery working the soil. Another thing that was not affective on the first device patented, is the high pulverizing power obtained with this new device, offering at the same time, considerable fuel saving and less environmental impact . +

The present invention relates to a mechanical device fitted on tillers, rear tine tillers, milling machines, rotary tillers, rotary cultivators and all the agricultural machinery that presents the problem of clogging organic materials between the rotating parts. It also affects all those types of machinery that must work achieving maximum fine pulverization in as less passages as possible. This results in a significant environmental impact reduction.

Summary of the invention

The present invention relates to a mechanical device mounted on tillers, rear tine tillers, rotary tillers, rotary cultivators, milling machines and all agricultural machinery working the soil composed of a rotating shaft and related tools; old or new.

Below, we will explain one of the possible forms achievable and we will be referring to an example, not limited to but only explanatory, on a tiller. The device consist of a semicircular ring applied at the base of the blade which uses the same system of fastening.

Applying two, for each space between the blades, a right and a left, so the interior existing space is going to be closed.

The blades enter into the ground, as a result of its rotation and the weight of the machine itself, by crushing the soil and leading to the advancement of the machine and the tilling itself. To this date this operation has the inconvenience that as soon as the work has started the presence of grasses, shrubs, small twigs etc., begins to tangle around the blades, drive shaft and transmission area. At this point, if you do not carry out a manual cleaning of the entire group, those organic materials will snarl more and more until a formation of a grassy roll. This will exponentially limit the penetration of the blades into the ground and consequently effect the quality of the tillage itself. Even fuel consumption will increase because the entangled transmission area will put greater stress and effort on the engine. This in turn realises a higher quantity of polluted air into the atmosphere. Also the above device closes the space between the blades during their rotation so the impact surface area with the ground will increase; in fact, if until now there were only the blades working the soil, now even the device will penetrate the ground, doubling soil pulverization and avoiding an additional transition. Finally, another aspect that should not be underestimated is that the grassy roll of entangled organic materials formed causes the machine to hop badly while it is working. This increases the possibility of accidents, even serious ones. In th_is case, we can clearly say that the safety of the operator will increase.

When the soil is cultivated by those mentioned machines, the blades penetrate the ground and by the rotation effect pulverize the soil which allows the machine to go forward. When between the blades and the engine shaft there is nothing (all machines these days) , as a result of the rotation motion, weeds and all the materials present on the ground are pushed into the shaft and rotating parts. The faster the rotation is the more material will be entangled in it forming a greenery roll.

Referring to my old patent, the blades were mounted on the shaft between the rows of blades. Cutting or shredding of organic materials were happening when the machine was running at full power. But at a certain point in the process, the creation of the roll happened anyway and the entire concept did not work at all on smaller machines with weaker engines. Also it worked marginally regarding soil pulverization. The new functional principal of this new device is that when closing the space between the blades nothing can come in between and consequently create tangling on the shaft, and in the transmission area etc. Just closing the mentioned space, the impact surface area with the ground will increase considerably, automatically raising the quality of soil pulverization.

The present invention will be described in accordance with his favorite example, provided for illustrative purposes and is not limited by reference to the drawings attached:
