Abstract:
A method for providing a guide media presentation based on a hyper text transport protocol media stream and a related device. The media presentation guide method based on a hyper text transport protocol media stream, may comprise: a client acquiring a media presentation description of a guide media presentation, wherein the media presentation description of the guide media presentation describes N guide units included in the guide media presentation, N being an integer greater than 1; the client acquiring K guide units of the N guide units according to the media presentation description of the guide media presentation; and the client presenting the K guide units, each guide unit of the K guide units indicating one main media presentation, wherein the presentation quality of the main media presentation indicated by a guide unit i of the K guide units is greater than that of the guide unit i. The solution in the embodiments of the present invention is beneficial to supporting video guide in an HTTP media stream-based serving scenario, thereby improving the user experience.
