Abstract:
A medical system (10) has a clamp-type device (12) and a pencil-type device (14) as a medical device. When a user presses a mechanical switch (48a) of the clamp-type device (12), a circuit closes and an electric current flows to a switch detection unit (28) of a drive device (16). When the user presses a sensor switch (68a) provided to the housing (62) of the pencil-type device (14), an output voltage from the switch (68a) changes from 5 volts to 0 volts. This change causes a transistor (82a) of a signal conversion unit (82) to turn on, and causes an electric current to flow to the switch detection unit (28) through the transistor (82a). In this manner, the signal conversion unit (82) provided to the housing (62) of the pencil-type device (14) changes the output of the sensor switch (68a). Accordingly, the switch detection unit (28) is capable of not only detecting the state of the mechanical switch (48a), but also detecting the state of the sensor switch (68a) via the signal conversion unit (82).
