Abstract:
Disclosed is a medical device including a silicone hydrogel which does not readily harden with drying, and which does not readily stimulate a site in contact with a human body. This medical device includes a silicone hydrogel satisfying the following criteria. (1) The moisture content when containing water is within a range at least equal to 10% by mass and at most equal to 70% by mass, (2) the content of silicon atoms in the total mass when dry is within a range at least equal to 8% by mass and at most equal to 30% by mass, and (3) the tensile modulus when dry is within a range at least equal to 0.1 MPa and at most equal to 3.5 MPa.
