Abstract:
Provided is a medical device which can be inserted into a narrow lumen in an organism and can effectively cut and remove objects therein. Specifically provided is a medical device (10) for removing objects within a lumen in an organism, wherein: the device is provided with a drive shaft (20), a cutting part (40) which is fixed to the distal end of the drive shaft, an outer tube (30) which rotatably houses the drive shaft, and a handle part (60) disposed on the proximal end of the drive shaft and the outer tube; the handle part has a suction opening (94) formed therein, and the suction opening is in communication with a suction lumen (31) between the outer tube and the drive shaft; the drive shaft is provided with at least one first wire material (21A) helically wound about the axis (X) of the drive shaft; the helical winding direction of the first wire material wound toward the proximal end direction is the reverse direction of the rotation direction (R) of the drive shaft; and the first wire material directly faces the inner circumferential surface of the outer tube.
