Abstract:
A medical drill comprising: a thinning cutting blade (1) having two cutting blades symmetrical about a rotational axis thereof, a thinning being performed at a tip part thereof, and the cutting blade extending in a shape including a curved line from a chisel edge toward the external periphery of the drill; and a main cutting blade (2) extending from an end part of the thinning cutting blade to an external peripheral end of the drill; a ridgeline of a boundary with a chip discharge groove in a thinning face being substantially U-shaped and transitioning from the thinning cutting blade toward the main cutting blade progressively from a tip side to a proximal-end side of the drill relative to the direction of the drill axis as viewed from in front of the drill, which is the opening side of the groove, the rake angle (θ1) of the main cutting blade and the rake angle (θ2) of the thinning cutting blade satisfying the expression θ1 > θ2 > 0° except for directly under the chisel, the tip angle being 30° to 130°, and the flight angle being 5° to 25°.
