Abstract:
The present technology relates to a medical image processing apparatus, a medical image processing method, and a program that enable a display with which it is possible to visually recognize a difference in observation conditions. Included are: a coefficient calculating unit that calculates correlation coefficients that represent correlations between normal frames that are imaged in a state in which normal light is radiated onto an imaging subject and special frames that are imaged in a state in which special light is radiated onto the imaging subject; and a processing unit that applies image processing to the special frames so that regions in the special frames having high correlation coefficients and those having low correlation coefficients are displayed in different manners. Additionally included are: a first determining unit that calculates, for each pixel or each region in the normal frames, a first determination value that represents the possibility of a predetermined site being imaged therein; and a second determining unit that calculates, for each pixel or each region in the special frames, a second determination value that represents the possibility of the predetermined site being imaged therein, wherein the coefficient calculating unit calculates the correlation coefficients by using the first determination values and the second determination values. It is possible to apply the present technology to a medical image processing apparatus.
