Abstract:
Provided are a medical image processing device and a medical image processing method which are capable of extracting a signal of a low-contrast structure included in a medical image and enhancing the signal. The medical image processing device, which performs image processing on a medical image, is characterized by including: an acquisition unit (301) which acquires an original image; a first extraction unit (302) which extracts an image of a local bias component image that is a localized bias component in the original image; a generation unit (303) which decomposes, into at least two frequency bands, the difference image between the original image and the local bias component image, and generates a low frequency component image formed of a component of the lowest frequency band among the decomposed frequency bands; a second extraction unit (304) which extracts a local bias component low frequency image that is a localized bias component of the low frequency component image; and a calculation unit (305) which calculates a contrast-enhanced image by multiplying the local bias component low frequency image by a gain and adding the multiplied result to the local bias component image.
