Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an advantageous feature to acquire information based on the depth position of an observation target site of a biological tissue. [Solution] This medical image processing device is provided with: an image acquisition unit for acquiring a fluorescent image obtained by imaging a biological tissue including a phosphor while irradiating the biological tissue with excitation light; and a depth position information acquisition unit for acquiring depth position information relating to the depth position of the phosphor on the basis of the fluorescent image. The depth position information acquisition unit acquires distribution information indicating an image intensity distribution of the phosphor in the fluorescent image by analyzing the fluorescent image, and acquires depth position information by collating the distribution information with a distribution function representing an image intensity distribution in the biological tissue.
