Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to calculate a mottle index which represents ultrasonic image inhomogeneity and may help to perform appropriate diagnosis of contrast radiography findings. To this end, a grid is set with respect to a region of interest which is set in an ultrasonic image (steps S1 to S6), and each cell divided by the grid is categorized into three tones of luminance levels for each frame of the ultrasonic image (step S8). Each cell is set as a target cell in turn, and a cell for which any one of the three tones of luminance levels is set out of the cells above or below, or left or right of the target cell is set as a comparison. When the difference between the luminance level of the target cell and the luminance level of the comparison cell is two tones, it is determined as mottle, and the mottle index which represents the number of mottles in one frame is obtained (step S9). An average of the mottle indexes for frames is calculated as an average mottle index (step S12), and this is displayed on a display device and the mottle indexes are displayed in a graph in chronological order of the frames (step S13).
