Abstract:
In a medical information system, a plurality of search parameters included in a search query (300) that is input by the user to a plurality of types of medical databases are categorized on a per search category basis and thereby divided into an observation report search query (311) and a specimen test query (312). Using these queries (311, 312), corresponding databases are independently searched and the respective individual search results are combined to generate a composite search result. The individual search results are given individual scores corresponding to the degrees of matching with the search parameters and, when being combined, are given degree-of-association scores. The search results are ranked and combined in the descending order of those scores. This makes it possible to obtain a desired search result only by issuing a search execution command once, without requiring a plurality of search operations.
