Abstract:
Provided is a medical input device that receives input of instruction signals, and includes: a cover that wraps the outer surface of the medical input device; a contact detection unit that has an operating surface that detects a contact object that an operator places in contact therewith; and a notification unit that notifies the operator when the contact position of the contact object approaches the boundary of the operating surface or when the contact object has departed from the operating surface. Thus, the medical input device is capable of maintaining good operability without the user looking at the operating surface.
