Abstract:

A tube body includes: an elongated inner layer demarcating a main lumen; a wire reinforcing layer of reinforcing wire wound around the inner layer; an elongated sub-tube made of resin, arranged extending along the lengthwise direction of the a main lumen to the outside of this wire reinforcing layer, and demarcating a sub-lumen smaller in diameter than the main lumen; an outer layer made of resin sheathing the wire reinforcing layer and the sub-tube; and a retaining wire. A control wire is inserted moveably through the interior of the sub-lumen, the distal end being connected to a distal portion of the tube body. A control part controls traction of the control wire to flex the distal end of the tube body. The retaining wire is sheathed by the outer layer, and winds together the sub-tube and the wire reinforcing layer. In the medical instrument (catheter), the retaining wire is connected respectively to the peripheral surface at the outside diameter side of the sub-tube, and to the outside surface of the wire reinforcing layer.
