Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a medical manipulator system which can easily detect effects of meandering, swerving, etc., of an insertion part and adjust an operation signal; and a method for operating the medical manipulator system. The medical manipulator system is provided with: a treatment tool unit having an arm part which includes an arm having a joint and an end effector attached to the arm; an overtube including a lumen through which the treatment tool unit is inserted; a drive source which generates a drive force for driving the joint; a control unit which generates an operation signal for operating the drive source; and a friction detection unit which detects friction generated between the inner surface of the lumen and the treatment tool unit, wherein the control unit calculates, according to the detected friction, the amount of correction for adjusting the operation signal.
