Abstract:
This invention provides a medical support device, a method for controlling a medical support device, a medical support program, and a medical support system that make it possible to analyze the benefit realized by introducing new medical equipment. An equipment search unit (45) searches an equipment-correspondence-information database (32) for old medical equipment corresponding to the new medical equipment. A clinical-path-information search unit (46) searches a clinical-path-information database (31) for clinical-path information in which the old medical equipment or the new medical equipment has been used in medical care. A history-information acquisition unit (47) acquires, from the found clinical-path information, hospitalization durations that are used to represent the treatment effectiveness of the old and new medical equipment. An introduction-benefit analysis unit (48) computes the mean hospitalization duration associated with the old medical equipment and the mean hospitalization duration associated with the new medical equipment, divides the mean hospitalization duration associated with the old medical equipment by the mean hospitalization duration associated with the new medical equipment, and uses, as the benefit realized by introducing the new medical equipment, the factor by which the mean hospitalization duration associated with the new medical equipment is lower than the mean hospitalization duration associated with the old medical equipment.
