Abstract:
Provided are a medium conveyance device, a medium conveyance method, and a control program whereby it is possible to suitably execute positional alignment of the leading end of a medium by a conveyance roller while suppressing an increase in device costs. This medium conveyance device includes: a feed roller; a first conveyance roller that is disposed downstream of the feed roller; a second conveyance roller that is disposed downstream of the first conveyance roller; a motor for simultaneously driving the first conveyance roller and the second conveyance roller; a sensor that is disposed upstream of the first conveyance roller; a determination unit for determining whether the rear end of a medium has passed the second conveyance roller; and a control unit that causes the first conveyance roller to stop or rotate in the reverse direction, controls the feed roller, and executes positional alignment of the leading end of the medium at the position of the first conveyance roller. When the leading end of a first medium is detected by the sensor and it is determined by the determination unit that the rear end of a second medium preceding the first medium has passed the second conveyance roller, the control unit executes positional alignment of the leading end of the first medium.
