Abstract:
Disclosed is a medium conveyance mechanism wherein banknotes are pulled without using a pulling tool. The medium conveyance mechanism comprises an upper belt (2) entrained about two rollers (3a, 3b), a lower belt (5) entrained about two other rollers (6a, 6b) and arranged to overlap the upper belt (2), and a pull guide (15) arranged on one side of the upper belt (2) and the lower belt (5) at a distance therefrom and having a tilt (16) for pulling banknotes and a conveyance reference surface (17) formed on the end side of the tilt (16). When banknotes under conveyance are abutted on the tilt (16) of the pull guide (15) and pulled, the banknotes slip in a direction perpendicularly intersecting the conveyance direction with respect to the upper belt (2) and the lower belt (5), and one end of the banknotes is introduced to the conveyance reference surface (17).
