Abstract:
The level of slag in a main body of melting furnace is controlled by carrying out
periodic opening and closing of a batch slag discharge port, detecting at least
either any quantitative change of pressure within the main body of melting furnace
or any quantitative change of temperature of gas emitted from the main body of
melting furnace at that time and, when the detected quantitative change is below
a predetermined set value, opening the batch slag discharge port for a given period
of time to thereby discharge slag from the the main body of melting furnace and
lower the slag level within the main body of melting furnace, while, when the detected
quantitative change is the predetermined set value or above, closing the batch
slag discharge port for a given period of time to thereby maintain or increase
the slag level within the main body of melting furnace.
