Abstract:
Provided is a melting furnace that minimizes oxidation of molten material and with which it is possible to improve the quality of a molten material. As shown in fig. 3, this melting furnace 1 is provided with: a melting part 2 to which a metal material is supplied; a burner 4 for melting the metal material in the melting part 2 so as to obtain a molten material; a heating part 5 which receives the molten material from the melting part 2 and raises the temperature of said molten material; a temperature adjustment part 6 which receives the molten material from the heating part 5 and accumulates said molten material therein; a partition wall 7 which separates the heating part 5 from the temperature adjustment part 6, and that has a lower end 70 immersed in the molten material in such a manner as to form, in a lower part of said partition wall 7, an inflow port 71 through which the molten material is allowed to flow into the temperature adjustment part 6 from the heating part 5; an immersion heater 10 which has at least a portion thereof immersed in the molten material within the temperature adjustment part 6 so as to heat the molten material; and a gas introduction passage 72 which is formed in the partition wall 7 and through which combustion gas from the burner 4 is introduced into a space over the molten material within the temperature adjustment part 6, wherein control is performed on the burner 4 so as to keep the oxygen concentration in the combustion gas at 5% or lower.
