Abstract:
Disclosed is a member for attaching a button wherein poor attachment of a button to a cloth is reduced, the range of type or thickness of an applicable cloth is expanded, and cost reduction can be attained by thinning the post of the member for attaching a button. The member (10) for attaching a button comprises a disklike base (11), and a post (12) projecting therefrom. A large number of recesses (14) and protrusions (15) are provided alternately in the circumferential direction on the inclining inner circumferential surface (12b') at the distal end (12b) of the post (12). When the post (12) of the member (10) for attaching a button begins to cut a cloth (1) at the time of attaching a button (20) thereto, the cloth (1) is subjected to compression from the tip (13) of the post (12). In addition, the protrusions (15) cut into the cloth (1) and compress the cloth (1) intensively, and thereby the cloth (1) enter the recesses (14) thus relaxing the compression. Consequently, the cloth (1) is pulled between the protrusions (15) and the recesses (14). The cloth (1) is cut easily by the post (12) because the cloth (1) is compressed and pulled strongly and weakly in the circumferential direction by means of the recesses (14) and the protrusions (15).
