Abstract:
Disclosed are a membrane-based process and system capable of effectively concentrating and recovering lithium, which is contained in an aqueous solution or brine, within a short time by performing a nanofiltration step at the front end thereof in order to overcome the inefficiency of a membrane distillation process, which is caused by multi-valent ions, particularly, divalent ions, contained in a lithium-containing aqueous solution (brine).
