Abstract:
Provided is a membrane element 12 which is formed by bonding a filtration membrane 22 and a flow channel material 21, wherein: the flow channel material 21 is formed by arranging threads in a three-dimensional structure, has therein a void 32 through which a filtrate having passed through the filtration membrane 22 flows, and has, on an external surface thereof, a bonding surface 25 to be bonded to the filtration membrane 22; and at least a part of the threads 29, 30 constituting the bonding surface 25 is a low-melting-point thread having a softening point lower than that of the material constituting the filtration membrane 22.
