Abstract:
The present invention provides a membrane separation method and a membrane separation device, each of which enables membrane separation of a hydrocarbon mixture with high separation efficiency. A membrane separation method according to the present invention comprises a step (A) wherein a zeolite membrane is exposed to an atmosphere having a dew point of -20°C or less, and a step (B) wherein membrane separation of a hydrocarbon mixture is carried out using the zeolite membrane after the step (A). In addition, a membrane separation device according to the present invention is provided with: a membrane separation module which is provided with a housing and a zeolite membrane that is contained within the housing and performs membrane separation of a hydrocarbon mixture; a starting material supply mechanism which supplies a hydrocarbon mixture to the membrane separation module; and a gas supply mechanism which supplies a gas having a dew point of -20°C or less to a space of the membrane separation module, said space containing the zeolite membrane.
