Abstract:
The present invention provides a membrane separation system suitable for efficiently recovering an organic compound. The membrane separation system 100 includes a degassing part 20 in which a fermentation broth S0 containing a volatile organic compound C is degassed and a membrane separation part 10 having a pervaporation membrane 11 for separating the degassed fermentation broth S into a penetrant fluid S1 and a retentate fluid S2. The membrane separation part 10 has a supply space and a penetrant space which have been separated by the pervaporation membrane 11. During operation, the pressure inside the penetrant-side space of the membrane separation part 10 is reduced so as to be lower than the pressure inside the degassing part 20.
