Abstract:
Disclosed is a memory controller wherein: if the temperature of a memory device observed in accordance with a first detection cycle is determined to be greater than a normal temperature, then a first level throttling level is applied as the throttling level of a memory bank, and observation of the temperature of the memory device in accordance with a second cycle is started; and then, if the temperature of the memory device is determined to be greater than a fixed fatal temperature that is greater than the normal temperature, then the throttling level of the memory bank is set to a second level throttling level, and an interrupt is provided which hands over temperature control rights to a processing unit. The memory controller controls the operation of the memory device in accordance with the throttling level.
