Abstract:
Disclosed is a memory management technique that allows memory capacity to be lent and borrowed between programs while preventing programs that lend memory capacity from running out of memory. In said memory management method, first, memory capacity is allocated to a first program and second program running on a computation device. Next, memory capacity allocated to the second program is reallocated (lent) to the first program. Later, a memory back-allocation request (return request) is sent to the first program, timed such that the memory capacity is back-allocated (returned) from the first program to the second program before the second program runs out of memory to use.
