Title:
METAL-AIR RECHARGEABLE BATTERY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/001745
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a metal-air rechargeable battery that does not have any carbon material contained in a positive electrode member, which is a factor in producing lithium carbonate (Li2CO3), and that is configured as a porous metal, thereby minimizing the formation of lithium carbonate (Li2CO3), and reducing over-voltage charging. The metal air rechargeable battery constitutes: a negative electrode member that absorbs and releases metal ions; a positive electrode member that ionizes oxygen; and an electrolyte-impregnated separator installed between the negative electrode member and the positive electrode member. The weight of the carbon is not more than 50% of the total weight of the binder, catalyst, and carrier constituting the positive electrode member.
