Abstract:
The aim of the embodiments of the present invention is to provide a high purity metal alloy powder having a polygonal shape and a method for producing the same by using intergranular corrosion caused by sensitization. A method for producing a high purity metal alloy powder having a polygonal shape, according to one embodiment of the present invention, comprises the steps of: processing a metal alloy, which comprises, in percentage by weight, 0.001 to 5% of carbon (C), 50% or less (excluding 0) of chromium (Cr), and the balance being iron (Fe) and other unavoidable impurities, to have grains of an aspect ratio of 0.5 to 2.0; heat treating the metal alloy to form a sensitized structure; causing intergranular corrosion in the sensitized structure; and processing the sensitized structure affected by intergranular corrosion into powder.
