Abstract:
This metal catalyst device (1) includes: a metal internal structure (11) that is supported by an exhaust passage (31) and has a plurality of holes through which exhaust gas is made to pass, and in which a precious metal for purifying exhaust gas is loaded on a partition wall section; and a metal external structure (21) formed on the outer periphery of the internal structure (11) in a cross section orthogonal to the direction in which exhaust gas flows in the internal structure (11) and having no through holes through which exhaust gas passes. The external structure (21) is formed on part or at least part of the outer periphery of the internal structure (11) in the direction in which exhaust gas flows and includes one or more metal connection sections (22). The external structure (21) formed on at least part of the outer periphery of the internal structure (11) in the direction in which exhaust gas flows is configured so that the minimum thickness of the parts other than the one or more metal connection sections (22) in the external structure (21) in a cross section orthogonal to the direction in which exhaust gas flows is thinner than the minimum thickness of the one or more metal connection sections (22) in the external structure (21) in the cross section orthogonal to the direction in which exhaust gas flows.
