Abstract:
[Problem] To perform selective hydrogenolysis of a cyclic compound having a five-membered ring structure and included in a saturated cyclic compound used as a hydrogen carrier. [Solution] This metal catalyst used in the hydrogenolysis of a cyclic compound having a five-membered ring structure and included in a saturated cyclic compound used as a hydrogen carrier, comprises: a silica-based carrier as a catalyst carrier; and iridium or rhodium as a metal supported on the catalyst carrier.
