Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a metal coating material for forming a layer that securely bonds together a metal base material and a cured product of an active energy ray-curable composition; a metal base material for printing formed by using the metal coating material; a method for producing the metal base material for printing; and a coated metallic material. The metal coating material that solves the above-described problem contains a polyester resin with a number-average molecular weight of 4000 to 12000 and a melamine resin. The polyester resin contains an alcohol structural unit derived from a polyhydric alcohol and a carboxylic acid structural unit derived from a polyvalent carboxylic acid. The proportion of the amount of a structural unit derived from a trivalent or higher alcohol relative to the total amount of the alcohol structural unit and the carboxylic acid structural unit is 20 mol% or less.
