Abstract:
The present invention provides a metal complex exhibiting blue light emission having a high colorimetric purity, and a low temperature dependence of colorimetric purity, particularly in the blue region. More specifically, the present invention provides a metal complex represented by formula (1a) (in formula (1a): M is a metal atom; R0 represents a divalent linking group; each j independently represents either 0 or 1; RP1, RP2, RP3, RP4, and RP6 each independently represent a hydrogen atom or the like; RP5 represents a halogen atom; m is an integer in the range of 1-3, n is an integer in the range of 0-2, and m+n equals either 2 or 3; and the moiety represented by formula (2) is a bidentate ligand (in formula (2), Rx and Ry are atoms bonded to the metal atom (M), each independently representing a carbon atom, an oxygen atom, or a nitrogen atom)).
