Abstract:
A metal complex which changes greatly in emission intensity with fluctuations in molecular structure caused by photochromic reactions of the ligand. The photochromic molecule of a diarylethene compound has coordinated to a metal ion through two groups each directly bonded to reaction-site carbon atoms, the groups each independently being any group selected from the groups of formula (1).
