Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a metal foreign body detection device which can achieve high detection accuracy regardless of the power supply state.
[Solution] This metal foreign body detection device 14, used in a wireless power transmission system for transmitting power using an alternating magnetic field, is provided with multiple antenna coils L3 which receive a magnetic field or a current to generate an oscillation signal, one or more capacitors C3 which form a resonance circuit RC with each of the multiple antenna coils L3, and a detection unit 140 which sequentially uses the multiple antenna coils L3 to detect metal foreign bodies. The detection unit 140 has multiple detection modes for detecting the presence or absence of a metal foreign body on the basis of changes in different characteristics of each resonance circuit RC; the detection unit 140 selects one of the multiple detection modes depending on the power supply state of the wireless power transmission system and performs detection of metal foreign bodies on the basis of the selected detection mode.
