Abstract:
Provided is a metal gasket which is improved in sealing property by a sealing bead and meets a requirement for reducing the width of a sealing surface. To achieve this purpose, a flat-plate-shaped metal gasket having a plurality of bolt holes is provided with a sealing bead between adjacent bolt holes in a manner such that one end of the sealing bead continues to one bolt hole and the other end continues to the other bolt hole. The sealing bead is gradually changed in shape so as to have the narrowest width at the center between the bolt holes and be gradually increased in width from the center between the bolt holes to the bolt holes. The relation, D > d ≥ W1, also holds true, where D is the diameter of the head seat of a fastening bolt to be inserted into the bolt hole, d is the diameter of the bolt hole, and W1 is the maximum width of the sealing bead. The metal gasket is configured from a metal plate or from a rubber-like elastic body deposited on one side or both sides of the metal plate in the thickness direction.
