Abstract:
Provided are a metal oxide particle dispersion having high transparency and excellent stability over time, a composition containing metal oxide particles, a coating film, and a display device. Provided is a metal oxide particle dispersion in which metal oxide particles surface-treated with a silicon compound represented by general formula (1) are dispersed in a solvent, the metal oxide particle dispersion characterized in that the metal oxide particle dispersion further includes an amine having a carbon number of 2 or greater, the average primary particle diameter of the metal oxide particles is 3 nm to 20 nm, the refractive index is 1.9 or higher, the solvent contains 70% by mass or more of an organic solvent, the solubility parameter of the organic solvent is 8.0 to 12 and the solubility thereof in water is 1.5 g/100 mL or greater, and the water content is 3% by mass or less of the content of the metal oxide particles. (1): R'nSi(OR)m (In the formula, R represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, R' represents an organic group, n and m are integers, n + m = 4, and 0 < n < 4.)
